CACJ has revised, modernized and reinvented its web page as a tool for you. It offers the opportunity for all of us to talk together on vital subjects of interest on a community forum, a great tool for problem-solving or just to dialogue about important criminal law issues. It offers a “Classified” section to find what other members may be offering or to make offers yourself of the services, office space, books, or whatever is important to you. It provides a quick digital tool to locate members and their phone numbers in other areas for referrals and a great index to articles, amicus briefs, Flash articles - - in short all our publications. It is truly an open door into the 21st century world of internet communication.

For the last year, the Technology Committee has been assessing the options to revitalize CACJ’s prior web presence. Early on, a proposal to reinvent our web page was received from Harold Tanalepy, a professional web page designer, with a soft spot for criminal law. His interests derives from his wife Kelly Tanalepy, who is a board member for CACJ. Endless work and dedication from Harold and Kelly have gone into making the new web page a state-of-the-art opportunity to get our message out and serve the members far more effectively than our prior page allowed.

    Some Features To Look For
A visit to www.cacj.org will reveal the strikingly, engaging esthetics of our new graphics. Features are divided between those available to the general public and those available only to current members. A “log in” is required for all of the “Member Only” sections. In the “Communications” section, a bulletin board pops up. That bulletin board is part of the “Community Server”. In this area, you will find both a forum on which to post questions, comments or thoughts and a blog for spreading your views on topics of importance. The “Forum” section will provide an opportunity for members to dialogue about any subject of interest. Think of it as a statewide coffee shop where you can kibitz with your pals about strategies, new problems, or anything else that benefits by conversation. It has the potential to be a great sounding board. Your participation will make it a success.

    Classifieds
The “Classified” section is intended to allow members to offer employment or to seek it in an atmosphere far more efficient than the general purpose publications that are currently available. Advertisements are directed to those curious about criminal law issues, as well as our membership. Offering or pursuing services in the field of criminal law becomes an efficient and effective way to find each other in the employment environment. The “Classified” section will also contain ads from both members and our supportive sponsors who have useful products and services to offer. It’s a good place to find what you need to make the practice run smoothly.

Index to Publications Up to the Minute
Historically, CACJ has published information of great value in “Forum”, in “Flash”, and in the amazing amicus briefs prepared for cases in the courts. A genuine obstacle to using this information has been the lack of any effective index. In the “Public” section of the web page, an index will be available, identifying all of this published material and allowing quick and easy access to it by members, through the use of your exclusive member identity number, which will be forwarded to you soon.

    On-Line Registration
As a great convenience for seminar attendees, on-line registration will also be available. This will allow for payment by credit card to simplify the process of attending CACJ’s great MCLE programs. In addition, applications for membership will be available which may be processed on the website. As time goes on, other aspects of the site will be revised and improved, as your comments guide us. Consider this web site as your home in the internet and tell us your thoughts about how it can be improved.

    Visit Your Website Now!
Although it has been a long time in the evolution, your website is launched and ready for a visit. Drop by and take a look. Play with the site, explore it, and see what it offers. Make it a regular part of your routine to drop by the “Forum” and see what’s being discussed and how it can serve you.

    Thanks, and enjoy!
