Public Defender Contra Costa County, CA
Salary range $169,928 - $202,903. Contra Costa County is one of the largest counties in California, consisting of 19 incorporated cities. Located just east of Bay Area, Contra Costa County has been one of the fastest growing counties in northern California. The Public Defender oversees 89 staff and a 09/10 FY budget of $17.4MM. Requires active membership in the State Bar of California, admission to practice in all State and Northern District Federal Courts, and 8 years of full-time experience, or its equivalent as a trial attorney practicing criminal law, with 4 years in a county Public Defender’s Office supervising the work of subordinate attorneys.

ABA Rules of Law Initiative Opportunities
