CACJ is Proud to Announce the Beginning of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) for Lawyers, Paralegals and Investigators with up to Five years of Practice and Current Law Students!

CACJ envisions the YLD as a vehicle to identify and provide the resources for young lawyers to successfully transition from law school to practice by creating a community of YLD's who can rely on each other and the expertise of the more seasoned attorneys in CACJ through networking, mentorships, expertise, resources and training seminars and webinars.

Importantly, we are creating an on-line community, backed by personal relationships. In anticipation of this we are looking forward to our first social mixer at the DUI seminar!  All YLD members are invited to this and we are looking forward to a great turnout!  Additionally, we are obtaining sponsorship for our events to keep the costs down and provide a more rewarding experience for our participants!

Better Resources Make Better Lawyers . The needs of young lawyers are often different than the needs of more seasoned lawyers, but the needs of their clients are not. It is our goal to assist all lawyers representing the criminally accused; the YLD Committee is committed to identifying and promoting training seminars which are meaningful to young attorneys and those new in the law. Additional resources include a soon to be launched tab on the CACJ.org website specially for the YLD division!

Those of us who are in the trenches have noticed recent law graduates and many new admittees are striking out on their own and choosing to practice Criminal Law!  Unfortunately, often strapped with large amounts of school debt - the reality is that those starting their careers in this economy are limited in the amount of resources they can afford to further their understanding of the law.  CACJ can bridge this gap in resources and experience benefiting both the YLD and the profession . Ultimately, CACJ will expose the YLDs to other CACJ Committees and encourage participation.

CACJ is the only private resource available that can effectively and consistently assist young attorneys in developing their knowledge and skills necessary to be effective advocates. CACJ's membership is comprised of the most experienced and dedicated criminal defense practitioners who are also most collegial in the representation of clients and most willing to make their experience and their motions available to other defense practitioners.

CACJ will automatically enroll all YLD eligible CACJ members who fit the admission criteria, and have already identified over 130 attorney members! Additionally, the YLD will be a separate committee with members recruited to help organize our events! The YLD Committee is seeking volunteers to assist with identifying and addressing the needs of young lawyers. Please consider assisting and contributing to your legal community and the defense of the accused!
